It's been one year ago today that I took my last broadway bow in The Lion King. I have spent most of the last year dancing. I love to dance, it makes me feel powerful and calms me down at the same time. I have had the amazing honor of becoming a junior company member of The Allison Owusu Dance Experience (TAOE) a contemporary dance company. We had our first ever gala on March 11 at Dance With Me in Ft. Lee, NJ. Each of us did a solo to introduce ourselves and talk about what dance means to us and then we did an amazing company number choreographed by Allison.
When I was in Matilda the Musical on Broadway my choreographer was Sara Brians. She was an amazing teacher and really whipped us all into shape. She made me want to work harder and get everything right. So when she called my mom and asked for me to dance in a piece that she was choreographing I was totally excited. I couldn't believe that she asked for me, I was so happy and honored. The evening of dance is Called Kicking and Screaming: An Evening of Broadway Song and Dance at Symphony Space. Monday night March 27th at 8:00pm. This is going to be an amazing night so get tickets if you can.
